Mr Sivakumar Saravan is a tax director at a mid-sized international accounting
firm. He has 15 years of experience in tax compliance and tax consultancy work for
individuals, local corporations, multinationals and financial institutions.
The industries that he has extensive experience in tax consultancy work include
fund management, bio-technology, manufacturing, trading, education, healthcare,
advertising, e-commerce and international shipping. He has also been the tax
advisor to several companies during their initial public offering (on the Singapore
Exchange) exercise.
Siva has extensive experience in advising clients on international tax implications of
cross-border transactions involving the various countries in the region including
Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand & Vietnam. He has also
advised on appropriate holding company structures for several multinational
companies based in Singapore for their outboard investments into Europe and the
Asia Pacific region.
Siva has conducted several seminars on local & international tax and is routinely
invited to speak on a wide spectrum of issues such as permanent establishment,
transfer pricing, withholding tax and tax risk management. He is currently the
consultant editor of CCH's Singapore Master Tax Guide manual. He is also one of
